#2 Tokusatsu

| November 2, 2010 | 8 Comments

When a young man finds an “interesting” belt buckle at a flea market, he  soon finds out it’s actually an advanced alien beacon that gives him the powers of the ancient universal enforcer Tokusatsu.  Now it’s up to him to protect the beacon from scheming agents while also using it to save the world from invading monsters!

This is a pretty kick ass design! The mask is really well designed and the pose is fantastic. Love the vibration lines around the hands!

Cool! I just watched the Japanese tokusatsu version of Spider-Man yesterday for the first time, which was good trippy fun. This begs the question, does Tokusatsu grow to a super-size (ala Ultraman) or does he pilot a giant robot mecha? Either way, nicely done!

  3. Very cool, Austen. It has a Kamen Riders feel. I love the flea market part of his origin…reminds me of Gremlins!

Awesomely awesome, I’d totally buy his comic/watch his Saturday morning cartoon! 😀

The plating on his face and chest is a great touch!

Sick! Nice work, man. I think you should opt the giant mecha route & draw that to accompany this some point later on this month.

  7. Bob Learned says:

I think he looks more like a villain of for a Super Sentai TV show… I looks like he is summoning a monster to kick Super Sentai Ass!

Great suit! Reminds me of a samurai warrior!
