#1 Keeper of the Keys

The Keeper of the Keys–I decided to take this challenge as a way to start drawing out all of my character ideas for my someday-to-be comic, Point Blank. The story revolves around Adela, a girl in search of her missing father in the unforgiving wastelands of the Azubah Valley, and her encounter with the mysterious Mithrandir (or Randi for short), an Immortal.

In the Azubah Valley, there are legends circulating about Immortals, people who have made deals with the mysterious man known as the Keeper of the Keys (KOTK) in order to obtain eternal life. To do so, it is said they must trade a part of which binds them to their mortal state thus making them immortal, but what they have given up is never quite what they expect it to be. Immortality comes at a high price… Of course they want KOTK to reverse the effects, but he vanishes as soon as the damage has been done, and he leaves with whatever is taken. His motives and current whereabouts are unknown.

Cool concept, nice drawing. I joined the fun here for almost the same reasons. So keep it going!
I would just advise you to rethink on the name “Mithrandir”, because that was invented by J.R.R. Tolkien as an alias for Gandalf, and is thus legally protected. That wouldn’t be a problem if the name actually existed outside of his fictional works, but as far as I was able to research, it does not.

Aside from that, way to go!

Ah, yeah I knew it was going to be a problem. I want to keep the nickname at least. I’ll most certainly change it. Thanks for the heads-up! 🙂 And thank you very much!

      • Samar Ertsey says:

        Not at all.
Yes, you should keep “Randi”, it sounds perfect. Marvel has created a character with a Tolkien name, Sauron. Maybe there’s still a way. But then again, coming up with a new name will be so far more rewarding for you.

    I love this man.

  3. The face and hair are great! And the details on the jacket, well done!!

  4. Julie Leone says:

He looks like one of those lovable guys who do dorky things but can also do epic things! Very happy you put a full body and back of head view, I never would have known about his nice hair thingies if you hadn’t!

    • Violet says:

Ah cool! That dorky look was exactly what I was going for, too. Also, I love taking my time into the little things like the hair. Thank you!

  5. KingGolem says:

I respect that hair. You did a good job, and I hope to see some of these immortals soon, so that I might see what exactly this Keeper of the Keys takes from them.
