Wabbit

Shadow Demon- just misunderstood, really!

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

He’s called a shadow demon, and he is a subterranean creature but he is not a demon. Being a member of the monster pirates of the Rabid Wombat, though, he will take the name. He naturally can cast “darklight” which changes the colors of things or obscures them completely.

Day 20: Gaius Germanicus XIX

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

Gaius Germanicus was the most cruel emperor of the Roman Empire, 19 days before it falls under the hordes of barbarians, that is why he was named XIX. In one of his adventures, Indy discovered his lost tomb and when Timebuster came to steal the treasure, he started crying ’cause they both saw that the treasure was ancient comics.

Trash Can Man!

Sorry for posting in groups like this- I’ve had computer issues and am behind in getting these up. I am at work, so doing these as the opportunity arises. Another bad-guy for Capt. Punishment to tackle!

The Dark Council- three characters at once!

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

The Imperial Council, or Dark Council, as it is usually referred to by the commoners, has ruled the empire for centuries during the absence of a ruler. With the king’s crown missing, the council is happy to keep the power. The Deinosian leader on the left has authority in matters of war. The cavern elf, in the middle, rules over general affairs of state, and the shade rules over judgement. These three  will put their desire for continued control of the empire over everything else- including their own people!

Grid, the living football

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

Maybe the result of a mad scientist? Who knows? Grid sure doesn’t- he is not that smart! I will probably add him to my Capt. Punishment ( and his Indestructible Yardstick of Justice!) in the future.

Of vampire decent, Liare Fearice is a malevolent being. He kills for pleasure when he doesn’t need the blood to survive.  Laughs a lot too.

#19 & #20 – Erin and the Rabbit

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

She genuinely believes that there is nothing more important than teaching, and often comes off as cloying and even a little creepy at times. She actually got into ooze monsters at a late age, thinking that it might help her “connect with the young adults” in her charge, as she put it. Though not naturally given to organized sports, Erin discovered a love of competition in ooze fighting, and she enjoys helping her students test their creations with the same level of enthusiasm she brings to teaching.

The Rabbit is a pretty good indication of the kind of person Erin is. Though there’s a vast difference in their sizes, the Rabbit is high-energy, high-speed, and slightly disturbing. In combat, the Rabbit uses its agility and a series of holographic projections to increase its evasiveness, while relying on powerful kicks and misdirection to deal damage to the opponent.

Keywords for the Rabbit and Erin were Animal, Humanoid, Two Legs, Unexpected Hands, Plant Parts, and Antennae. And I think this is the first entry where I’ve managed to use every single keyword! I’m actually pretty happy with the way this one turned out; Erin is equal parts FLCL’s Miya-jun and my own Cool Dude art teacher from high school, Mr. Schnieder. And the Rabbit’s creepy, alien-headed ear-handed cuteness is exactly what I wanted. So… Go me, I guess! 😀

#20 – SafeGuard – The superhero Team comprised of The Guardian, Man-ifold, Sanctuary, Dawn Titan and Backlash.

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

The City of Golden Bridge was a thriving and beautiful metropolis, playing home to a diverse mix of people, some of whom are the greatest superheroes known to man.

Heroes like The Guardian, one of the oldest and most beloved heroes of all time, his superhuman strength and resistance stemming from an experimental muscular stimulant created by the government. The guardian was the only volunteer on the program to gain any such attributes. He uses his newfound strength to stand up as a beacon of hope in the face of all danger. Protecting the streets from all manner of evil.

On the other hand you have the hero known as Man-ifold. He is young and out spoken, seen as a joker but always charming.  His abilities allow him to create duplicates of himself, up to hundreds of them. This allows him to fight against greater odds and win; it also allows him to do more tasks at once. The public loves him but his comedic attitude has him seen as somewhat of a fool in the hero community.

Apollo the ancient sun god left a human trinket on earth that contained a great deal of his power. This power was to be used in the face of pure evil as a way to light the path in the darkest of times. The Dawn Titan is the current wielder of that power. Manifesting itself in different ways in each host, Dawn Titan was granted control over the Suns rays. He can store all its energy in his skin to be unleashed when needed, used as a powerful force blast to either take flight or dispatch foes. The energy also forms a bronze like armor around Dawn Titan making him incredible tough.

Sanctuary is the most powerful female hero currently on Earth. Being able to weave and manipulate all kinetic energy around her make the possibilities of her powers almost limitless, forming protective shields around herself and others, or forcing her body through the air in graceful flight, the energy can be twisted and used at great force. With more belief in herself Sanctuary could be the worlds greatest hero.

Mysterious and unnerving are the terms most often seen in the reports of Backlash. He is said to have never spoken to anyone, not even those he helps. He turns up when people are in dire need or help and uses his power to absorb and reuse any and all force to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

All five of these heroes swore their lives to protect Golden Bridge, but it wasn’t until the vile villain known as Corruption nearly wiped out the city that they join as one, to become SafeGuard.

Corruption had used his fear enduing mind powers to turn all the citizens of Golden Bridge in to weak, helpless creatures to scared to even go outside.  Corruption grew more and more powerful the worse the situation got until The heroes alone could no longer confront him. The Guardian rallied them together and they set out to best Corruption. Man-ifold creating an army of himself to face the foe head on with the help of the sun powered Dawn Titan whilst Sanctuary and The Guardian prepared for the second phase. The army of Man-ifold overwhelmed Corruption whilst Dawn Titan protected the original version. Corruption forced to go super nova ready to unleash a city ruining amount of fear energy, in an instant the Man-ifold army all gathered back into the original as The Guardian, protected by Sanctuary grabbed Corruption and aimed all his energy at Backlash. Backlash absorbed it all and with one final breath before collapsing sent it all back at Corruption with an uppercut.

The day was won, the city saved, Corruption stopped and a team was born.

Bric, the stone giant

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

Inspired by the Easter Island statues, Bric is part of a nearly gone race of rock giants. Content usually with just sitting and watching the world, stone giants rarely have much on their mind. Bric is a runt of his clan, standing at only 8 feet and weighing just 2,200 pounds. He is part of the Rabid Wombat’s monster pirate crew.

Hounds of anubis

| November 20, 2012 | 2 Comments

Savage and feral, the hounds carry out brutal judgment loyally under the orders of Anubis himself.

Hunting in pairs, the hounds are intelligent hunters honed to fight with cruel efficiency-often complimenting each other in combat situations.

Be it escorting a lost spirit, tracking down a prey, or assassinating an enemy, the hounds see to it that their mission is completed.

Many a time, in doing their master’s bidding, they have also been mistaken for the lord Anubis himself.

Veil/ Vayle

Veil/ Vayle is a precognitive- she can predict things to come- just not always in order. She hides her face behind a veil because her appearance can vary based on who is looking at her. To some she appears absolutely terrifying, to others, she is drop-dead gorgeous. She is quiet, shy, preferring to simply be in the background of things. She is a member of the crew, the Rabid Wombat, a ship full of monster pirates captained by an X-gamer and soldier from Earth called Snake Luster.

#20 Night Hawk

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

INTERVIEWER:  Thanks for joining us tonight for this interview Mr., um..Hawk. I know that your time is valuable.

NH: The streets are a rising tide of crime that never stops. I need to surf that tide, for the protection of ordinary people.

INTERVIEWER:  I see. Well, I’m sure that we all appreciate your crimefighting work. And I’m just as sure that we would all love to know more about you. Can you tell us about yourself?

NH:  I am the night.

INTERVIEWER:  Okaaaaay, about that; where did you come by your “work name”? Are you swooping down on street crime like a hawk?

NH: I use the fear of my enemies against them. I use control of my own fear to show them the darkness of their ways.

INTERVIEWER:  You’re…afraid of birds?

NH: No, there is this painting-people in a lonely diner at night. It always filled me with dread. A dread my enemies now share.

INTERVIEWER: Excuse me, did you just say you make your enemies afraid of a painting? Why are you dressed like a bird?

NH:  Criminals are a superstitious and ignorant lot. I don’t think they would get the reference.

INTERVIEWER:  So, you dress up as a bird and fight crime…because you were scared of a painting?

NH:  I am the night.

INTERVIEWER: Okay…I’m getting word that we’re out of time. Thank you very much for the interview Mister Hawk. Careful of the doorframe, I noticed your helmet seems a little hard on your peripheral vision.

NH: I stay focused on the crime in front of me.

INTERVIEWER:  Good idea.

#20 – Jen Prime

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

The pod containing abstract creation material (we would probably refer to it as “genetic”) shot off into space, its planet of launch destroyed as per the Protocols of Ta’aru. Rather than a kingdom of black magicians, however, the pod landed just outside of the fabled Cloning Centers of Wollstonecraft, in the kingdom of Hypatia. The material assembled itself into an infant and was found by a couple of  scientists, who saw this event as a beautifully improbable statistical anomaly and adopted the infant as their own.

Jen Prime is Champion of the kingdom of Hypatia, an all-female science-centric country where women reproduce via artificial parthenogenesis using clones and in vitro fertilization. She’s from the parish of Wollstonecraft, known for its work advancing genetic engineering. She’s the kingdom’s five-time Science Throwdown Champ, and is perhaps a little too proud of her hometown and her achievements. She’s also proud of her Maori heritage (via one of her mothers) and wears the moko, or facial tattoo as part of that lineage.

She possesses the usual powers of a Champion of Ta’aru: flight, superhuman strength and durability, heightened senses, an inquisitive, activist nature, and the ability to focus her chi into energy that can be projected. Her ‘Special’ is the ability to perceive and analyze any substance, breaking it down into its component parts and perceiving any weaknesses.

Day 20 | Redbreast

2012 – DAY 20

All characters are created by my 5 year-old son, The Junior Partner.  He has either drawn these characters on his own and I have recreated them here, or he has sat at my elbow dictating design and conceptual ideas like a creative, but frenetic, taskmaster.

REDBREAST

Ok, so take The Falcon, add some Iron Man and Hawkman and boom…Redbreast…honestly, I’m not in love with the name, but I kind of like the color scheme.

Day 20 – Major Cosmos

Occupation – Traveler

He travels through space with the help of his high-tech rings and Cosmic Hook in his left hand. He is very curious about everything and is not a dangerous. He comes in peace.

Day 19: The Dark Hunter

| November 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

Who judges the wardens of justice? More vigilantes and so-called crime fighters appear in the Big City every year. Someone needed to keep an eye on these so-called “heroes”. Someone had to make sure that these supernatural and uncharted powers were being used responsibly. Someone needed to strike fear into the heroes as well as the villains, to spread the message that justice must be delivered fairly and carefully. That was when the Dark Hunter appeared, silent, watching and judging. A silhouette on the highest perch.
