#23 and #24 – Gordon and Beelzebub

| November 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

A high-ranking NMSA agent and kind of a vicious dickwad, Gordon Clearwater is the son of the current head of the Nanomachine Suppression Agency. As such, he is entrusted with certain responsibilities that the NMSA would prefer the public not know about. Gordon himself is the kind of guy who gets pleasure out of petty revenge and childish controlling behavior, making him a genuine pain to work for.

Beelzebub is actually the code name for a unique blob monster developed by the NMSA. Its purpose is to introduce specialized code into the programming of construction ooze, allowing the NMSA to track which trainer has what ooze. The existence of this code is a closely held secret, but there are rumors that it may have a more sinister purpose, especially amongst hackers who have carefully dug through the programming.

The keywords for these two were Geometric, Therian, Hovering, Thorns, Ghostly, and Chomping Jaws. I played pretty fast and loose with these keywords, as I’m trying to introduce the actual main conflict of the story here. I hope you enjoyed the disgusting giant fly, at any rate. ^^

Day 24: 21st Century Sandshark Studios Presents: THE NEXT KIND’S BYFRAZ

| November 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

On the far off world of Jorol, 3 million years from now, the descendants of humanity have settled this among thousands of  planets.  Seven offshoots of humanity have divided this land amongst themselves.  Civilizations have risen and fallen.  Wars have begun and concluded.  Jorol currently is in a state of an uneasy peace.

That peace was broken by the return of Jorol’s indigenous species: The Frahl Wraiths, who were forced underground millennia ago and were thought extinct. This was not so as their reemergence was hailed with the decimation of Koroth and and several other city states in the lands of Norlympia.  Those who survived were either taken into slavery or forced to flee.  One of those exiles was a noble general by the name of Doule.

Doule was in search of allies from the seven nations to form a coalition against the Frahl Wraiths.  His travels at one point brought him to the arctic tundra of the Binans.  This race has evolved to where they operate in genetically identical pairs.  They are literally living computers that have developed cloning technologies, and have advanced telekenetic and telepathic skills.  The Binans, though comprised as two person units, operate, think, and have identity as one distinct person.  One of these pairs went by the name of Byfraz.

They were  simple scholars and anthropologist, but had extensive knowledge of antiquity and tales and information on the Frahl Wraithes.  The Binans are semi-pacifists, but agreed to lend the services of Byfraz to the cause, for which they have proven invaluable.

Day 24: Xiong Mao

Character 2 of the Monochrome Warriors Four. I’m doing a quartet of beastly fighters. Here is a link to the first one.

Xiong Mao is the second of the crew, a venerated warrior monk. He channels his focus into paws of fury, striking with his Spear of Peace and Enlightenment. He looks ferocious, but his comrades know he is a big teddy bear.

The Kickstand Girl

#24 – Madame Emilie Zehetner.

| November 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

The sultry, seductive and charming anthropomorphic cougar who runs the local den of iniquity, The Cats Meow. Russian born Emilie ended up in America when she ran away from home with her then lover. The relationship went south as most of those hot and passionate ones do. A few wrong moves later and she ended up in debt to a local crook by the name of Finnegan, he was a scrawny, dirty Irish weasel but he had a lot of hired muscle, big ugly mutts, Emilie couldn’t do anything.

As luck would have it Finnegan and his boys weren’t much to look at so had to use their ill-gotten gains to charm a lady of the night. There favorite haunt was the Cats Meow, a really classy joint, crooks and cops alike loved this place for its beautiful women. It was one of the only places in the city to have a white tiger take an interest in you. The then Madame, Silvia was a fierce fox of a lass, she was kind and gentle until you crossed her. As it goes she got wind of Emilie’s troubles through Olive, a pretty little otter who happened to be Finnegan’s girl, well that’s how he saw it.

From the moment Silvia laid eyes on Emilie she couldn’t let any harm come to her at the hands of that fool Finnegan. She stepped in, paying off this petty debt owed and taking Emilie in. She never intended for it to happen, she just wanted to look after her. But once the local boys got a look at Emilie they where all asking after her. Emilie was flattered by all the attention and she could use the money, she had vowed to pay Silvia back for her kindness and more.

Emilie became one of the best girls Silvia had ever seen at work. It didn’t take her long to catch the eye of Dennis Haines. He was a good guy, nicest bear you could want to meet. He was a local detective, had a wife and kids at home but an appetite for the ladies that no one woman could satisfy.

He came to see Emilie every Wednesday with out fail. Told his wife he was going to the gym with some of the beat cops. Emilie kept him in good shape that was about as much truth as there was to it. Silvia could see the old bear fooling for her but didn’t step in. She figured it would be good to have the local detective inclined to be in her favor.

The years passed and Dennis still made his visits, though they grew less and less, his hunger for lust had been ousted by his old back. Emilie and Silvia had been come close, friends is how most would see them, but there was a bond between them that was almost paternal, so when the worst happened and Silvia passed, so did the Cats Meow, to Emilie.

Finnegan only got uglier with age so was still in need of Emilie’s new home. She loves to hear Finnegan call her Madame; she demands respect of those who wish to visit her halls. Dennis sends her flowers every valentine’s day to show he still thinks of her, it’s a nice thought but life has hardened Emilie up, she knows it’s just a gesture.

The flowers are still beautiful though.

Day 24 | Spiderfly

| November 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

2012 – DAY 24

All characters are created by my 5 year-old son, The Junior Partner.  He has either drawn these characters on his own and I have recreated them here, or he has sat at my elbow dictating design and conceptual ideas like a creative, but frenetic, taskmaster.

SPIDERFLY

Gentle Reader, you may have noticed a trend toward spider themed heroes in this 30 Day contest.  This particular spider hero was a combination of an armored version of Spider-Man and an old Batman villain named Black Spider discovered in an old DC Comics’ “Who’s Who” issue.

Spiderfly wears an armor that grants him agility and strength but also can allow for short periods of weightlessness.  Spiderfly has a series of “web bombs” that he wears in a utility belt, but can also shoot blasts of sticky fluid tendrils out of a special gun or from nozzles in his forearms.  He also could use the same fluid to create an underarm “cape” of this spider web fluid which allows him to glide along from building to building or over distances when used in conjunction with his weightless ability.

Anubis- god of the dead

| November 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

Dark and Enigmatic like the afterlife itself, Anubis governs the realm of the underworld with an iron fist.

Depicted by Egyptian lore as a Jackal headed god -both man and beastlike, It can be assumed that many have confused the hounds of the netherworld for Anubis himself or perhaps it was the trickery of his illusions.  Whatever the reason, Anubis shrouds his true visage with mystery.

Like mist, or a fleeting dream, Anubis is almost an intangible presence. The only beings in which confide in this god, are the souls of the dead itself- the very beings he committed to watch over.

Anubis’ dark demeanor is only coupled along with his grim duties. Almost like a father, he shades the cold dead from the piercing rays of the accursed Sun from his realm, and fabricates a veil of reality so ecstatic that the dead forget all the miseries in their past lives.

A sole protector of the deceased, Anubis’ dark sanctuary gives solace to all that reside in his realm, and warning to all who would dare tread without permission.

Beings of the light, and emissaries of the high heavens avoid his domain like the plague, for no being would dare try the capricious temper of the god of the dead.

“Take my hand cold one, and I’ll escort you into the eternal lands, where you’ll come to no harm.”

Julia and Martin Tanaka decided to adopt after finding out that Julia could not have children.  They found Jason at the  local orphanage and fell in love with him.  He was only 6 when he became a member of this unique family.  He is a very chill dude and isn’t surprised by a lot of things.  Though his parents tend to have busy schedules, they make time to spend with Jason and as a family.  He first picked up the trumpet after hearing his (adopted) grandfather play at a small concert.

#23 Alien

| November 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

Honestly I am not fond of this one at all but I am very ill tonight and wanted to do my nightly 30 days thing although I am dizzy and really need to go curl up and pass out with some theraflu at this point. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. :/ Anyway the black and red thing is a parasitic type alien but they are placed on the heads to attach only after agreement/submission from the other species after a ritual. They provide healing properties/and added intelligence in return for the mobility/strength of the other species in a mutual bond. Aliens bearing these parasitic species are regarded in their own hierarchy as a sign of honor.
