OrchidIn the world out side the clock work, Bats live a free and open existence. However, within the great clock they live in hiding. This is due to the belief of the clock citizens that the bones of bats are holy, and angelic. Many wooden cross gears still feature their bones.

SavoitChancellor of the reptilian parliament, Savoit is an example of the sometimes rocky relations between mammalian and Reptilids since the cold blood war. On one hand Savoit is very much the progressive, working for a more ecumenical relationship between the peoples. But Savoit has his own agenda, himself.

MiernieMiernie is the Queen Elect. Formerly she was a warrior priestess of he Tontin sisterhood known as a “Warcaptain”. He standing down from her position to become a royal concubine was highly controversial among her fellow sisters. Not as controversial as when the King chose her to be his bride, and the Queen Elect. Now the most powerful of the Clock-work aristocracy wants her dead, only one group will take her alive.

Dr. Karen Sweeney

| November 20, 2011 | 1 Comment

Karen sweeneyDr. Karen Sweeney was pursuing her graduate studies in Mathematics when she was asked to help a colleague with a research mission. She was small enough to fit inside a special mechanical dive suit known as the Elven Mk3. After that she continued her studies, and earned a good deal of prestige. That is until she was asked to sit in on the panel of scientists given the task to deflect a massive near earth asteroid. At the same time she was also diagnosed with breast cancer. She was working through the calculations while undergoing treatment. A distraction she would never be able to forgive herself for. He faulty calculations caused the deflection of the asteroid to skip through the earths atmosphere and graze the moon. The resulting cataclysm caused the deaths of untold billions, and altered the earths climate. All the scientists were discredited and ousted from their various positions, except Dr. Sweeney. She was placed into cryogenic stasis, were she hopes the future will bring a cure. And possible absolution.

JoshuaJoshua Collins is very lucky not to be counted within the tens of thousands of “Cryo-vics”. (slang term applied to people who suffered aging or deformation due to the poor quality cryogenic technologies used 200 years ago.) Unfortunately, Josh is now an orphan. His Mother died when he was young, and his father died during a deep space mission.

hideJoseph Burkhart is a municipal computer maintenance programmer who works from home. His home is so densely filled with computer (It’s all one system) that he lives within inches of core processors and relays. He gained the nick name “hide” due to the gripping agoraphobia he suffers from. Growing up he had a severe fear of open spaces. He would hide under couches, in the knee wells of desks, and in boxes. When he was five he saw his parents die during the “Apophis disaster”. Now he never leaves his house, and can do everything he needs to do from home via the internet.

RabbRabb is the kind of guy you meet out in the middle of a desert. Enigmatic and full of trouble, yet one of the nicest guys you’ll meet. Though if your trying to avoid confrontations with the New Empyrean Order, it’s best not to befriend the guy who used to be their top engineer. Also it’s best not to befriend the guy who used the New Empyrean Order’s prized prototype super mech to defect. Hanzle and Finch got WAY more than they bargained for when Rabb started to tag along. And how is it that he knows so much about the Gradian colony from it’s golden days?

Geela Clutch

| November 16, 2011 | 0 Comments

GeelaIf being a three and half foot tall space gnome wasn’t whimsical enough, Geela Clutch takes whimsy a bit farther. Geela was attending an Ardorian boarding school for girls when she met up with Hanzle and Finch. When the New Empyrean Order came to shut down the school for harboring fugitives, (The Gradians) Geela and a large portion of the school left with the two scouts. Now Geela aids the intrepid duo in their search for a new home world.

Finch Greely & Hanzle Duncan

| November 15, 2011 | 2 Comments

FinchFinch Greely was born shortly after the fall of the Gradian colony and grew up in the refugee camps that took shelter deep underground. As part of the Advance Patrol, he volunteered to take part in a scouting mission to vanguard a new home for the Gradian colonists. Finch tends to be quiet and observant, prone to wait for a solution rather than dive in head long.

Unfortunately he was paired with…

HanzleHanzle Duncan. The colony’s top fighter pilot. Brash, impatient, and some what arrogant. Hanzle first thought he was being awarded the job of scouting for a new home world, but soon realized he was being “dumped off”. The truth being the former, but Hanzle insists it’s the later. Fueling this is the polar opposite partner he’s saddled with. Finch. Differences aside, there mission is of utmost importance. The colony is in near squalor, and the Ark ships they live in are becoming over crowded.

Fesco Bobbins & Podzoil

| November 14, 2011 | 0 Comments

Dog in robot suitFesco Bobbins is, or was, a small time privateer/ small time smuggler until he met up with a group of Ardorian refugees from the Gradia colony. Now he’s a small time privateer/ small time smuggler/ Enemy of the New Empyrean Order.

Fesco’s people use the robot suits to function with other non-canind races. The suits use mind induction to not only facilitate bipedal loca-motion and better manual tool manipulation, but common verbal speech as well.

Potato in a robot suit

Pozoil is the super intelligent potato assistant to Fesco Bobbins who is also an enemy of the New Empyrean Order. Podzoil’s people are a maligned lot. A species of hyper intelligent tubers that without assistance cannot communicate or move on their own. They are oft mistaken for jumbo potatoes and hoisted off world to make orders of Jumbo fries.

MinervaMinerva is a runaway. After her mother died, Minerva’s father remarried almost immediately. Minerva’s step mother was verbally and emotionally abusive. The only solace she had was when she helped out an old colleague of her mothers by cleaning his lab. Dr. Herkema, who took a shining to her, gave her a hand knit scarf the night before he was murdered in his lab. He also gave Minerva the control for an ancient giant machine. Minerva was the only witness to the murder, she also was the one who killed the assailant (Though she doesn’t know how). Now she’s on the run, from her family, from the government, and from a multitude of organizations who want control over “the machine”. But what is it?

Jack McPatch

Jack McPatchShrouded in mystery, little is known about Jack McPatch. His tendency to appear when you need him and disappear when you also need him, befuddle even the most ardent of the Northern Mountain Fusileers. With motivations beyond our knowing, McPatch has been labeled by some cultures as a trickster spirit and a demon to be feared or run out of town, where as other cultures just ignore him as an excentric. No one knows where or when he came from, some say he doesn’t know either. One thing is certain, It’s hard not to stare at a man who hovers one and a quarter inches off the ground.

Mins Delacroix awoke having no memory of her past and who she was. Add to that, the gauntlets that were now fused to her hands. Screaming and crying in a child like state, the closest memory she has to her enigmatic past is a flash of blinding light, and the words “Electra-clytemnestra” .  For countless years,  she has haunted the witchfenns looking for answers to who she was and now is. She is accompanied by a silver grey cat named pyewacket.

My name is Andrew. I’m 35, married, and a stay at home Dad. I went to college in Grand Rapids Mi and got a BFA (Big Funkin’ Art Degree) with a focus on Sculpture and Ceramics, but have spent the last 11 years teaching myself the craft of sequential art. I’m with a group of cartoonists here in Ft Wayne called Summit City Ink []. We Drink, we draw, we watch crappy movies on Netflix, and we’ve put together a small but growing convention here in town. [].

I love the art of comics, and have so since fifth grade when I started reading Garfield and Calvin and Hobbes. I love adventure comics like Tintin and Gottfredson’s Micky Mouse. I love real life comics like American Splendor and Maus. I can’t begin to list all the manga I have and what I’ve read and what is yet to be read.

I guess it’s safe to say I have a passion for just ink lines on paper.
