#9 – Shapeshifter

| November 27, 2011 | 0 Comments

Just a quick shapeshifter character, something that hops from one person’s dream to another. It doesn’t have any sort of true from but eventually it adapts to whatever dream it’s contained in.

# 8 – Scratch

Just a Gengar-inspired design of a monster. A ghost/demon thing that likes to burrow into the walls of old houses like some kind of paranormal vermin.

#7 – Sophie

Normally I don’t create detailed illustrations like this but I’ve been trying to practice… I’m not too happy with it but I’m posting this with the chance of getting some critiques.

She’s an old character idea I had… a character is slowly loosing his memories. The things he’s dreaming about each night are parts of his life he’ll never remember again. It’s very slow and gradual. The things he forgets are very subtle and unimportant at first.

Every once in a while Sophie shows up in his dreams but he doesn’t fully know who she is, he’s already forgotten. She’s not a girlfriend or a family member but it’s something important. Every time he sees her, more of her has disappeared into wispy smoke. She’s kind of like a spiritual guide (or hallucination).

#6 – Bandages

Just some doodles in my sketchbook. I don’t really have much of a personal art style, everything I draw looks different!

#5 – Witch

I’m really bad at coming up with names, I have no idea what to call her. (Any ideas? 🙁 )

But here’s a cute illustration of a witch! She’s part of a project I’m working on in my Narrative / Children’s Book Illustration class I’m taking.

#4 – Shadow

Sometimes I take art requests from people and earlier somebody submitted a short story they wrote, wanting their creepy character named “Anmael” to be illustrated. I think it came out pretty well. 🙂

Process work

| November 9, 2011 | 0 Comments

Not an official entry but here’s some black and white process work I did for practice. (Negative space and all that). It’s really fun to do! This really helps me come up with new ideas and I would recommend this method to others.

These were for my earlier robot designs. (Click for larger size)

Should I develop any of these profiles farther?

#3 – Even more robots!

| November 9, 2011 | 1 Comment

Okay, this is my last official submission with robots. For now… (but really, I’ll be exploring other kinds of characters in the future).

I’m not sure if these should count as multiple characters but I think three groups of robot pictures should be enough, haha.

Which one is your favorite? 😀

#2 – More robots!

I’m having fun just playing around with shapes. Again, feel free to critique anything I’ve drawn so far.

Thanks for looking!

Help me come up with a name for this guy!

Hey guys, I’m starting my entries a bit late but I’ve been working some character designs lately.I think it’s about time I posted some of them up! I need some critiques on this and I would love it if anybody had any advice on how to improve. Good luck with the challenge everyone!
