#5. Galera: Satyr Gladiatrix

| November 10, 2010 | 4 Comments

I sell commissions and original fantasy art as a part time job, and I’ve drawn many satyrs over the last few months. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a satyr gladiatrix. And probably neither have you. Until now. Meet Galera!

#4. Trogg

| November 7, 2010 | 3 Comments

Genetically engineered by the diabolical Dr. Genome, Trogg is an enhanced clone of a neanderthal. His strength is more than twenty times (perhaps greater) that of his genetic progentior.  His intelligence, however, is somewhat limited.

Dr. Genome controls Trogg through implants he has placed in the creature’s brain.

#3. Hercules

| November 5, 2010 | 2 Comments

For tonight’s posting I decided to create my own version of the Greek demigod, Hercules (seen here wearing the Nemian lion skin).  Time was limited, so I went with a simple headshot with some quick digital airbrushing added over the pencils. Enjoy!

#2. Atoman

For my second entry in the 30 Characters challenge I went to the public domain, which I’ve done many times before in creating new characters. This is Atoman.

I made a few minor alterations to his costume to make him more “my” version, but for the most part I stayed true to his original 1940s design.

He was essentially a superman analogue whose powers were explained as being “the powers of the atom”. If I ever use him in one of my stories I’ll try to come up with something a little better than that. I thought about having him exposed to atomic radiation, triggering his latent metahuman abilities.  Or something like that.

#1. Xaphan

| November 1, 2010 | 7 Comments

Robert Xaphan was once human. One night he brought home what he thought was a beautiful woman, but what was in actuality a shape-shifting succubus. This particular species of succubus transfered its demonic curse via sexual intercourse, and the following night Robert regained consciosness to find himself transformed into a demon.

Because of his metamorphosis Xaphan has left his former life, and he now prowls the night, feeding on the life-force of those unfortunate enough to cross his path, all the while hoping that there exists some mystical means by which he might be cured.

Powers: Flight, regeneration, strength, speed, agility, fiery breath

Limitations: If Xaphan does not absorb the life force of a human at least every three days, he will become significantly weak and die.
