Remember The Shattered Queen?  Here is her sister, Storm Crow.  (Characters created by Jaym Gates.)

storm Crow

“The Storm Crow. Whether she brings the war or is merely excellent at knowing where war is about to happen is not known, but if she is seen, war is not far behind. It is said that any who welcome her offer of aid will win, but to turn her away is to lose every battle you will ever fight, no matter how small”

(Continued from #8, White Ape.)

Half Claw: Inspired by a character from Andrew Penn Romine’s  “How the Goddess Came to Spring Flowering Valley“.

Head of Law enforcement for Hanging Cloud City, a hulking White Maned Ape, armed with barbed fishing gaffe.  (The nickname Half Paw is derived from his mangled paw, the result of an encounter with a water demon.)

white ape

This one inspired by a prompt from InkGorilla, aka,  Andy Romine.

I have a hard time resiting a good close up in the face of a raging ape, however this version neglects some pretty pivotal details of the ape’s build and weaponry etc.  Therefore I’ll be doing a follow-up version. (stay tuned)

thank you Andy!

the shattered queen

From a story that Jaym Gates is currently writing.

The Shattered Queen is pale as milk, clothed in blood, riding a ghost. The moon is between her lips, the winter is in her hands. She came from the Lands Beyond.”

#6 Sisika

| November 16, 2011 | 0 Comments

Inspired by a character Alan Smale created in his novella, Clash of Eagles (published in Panverse Two.) (Which novella, btw, won Alan the Sideways award!)

Sisika, A Cahokian warrior mother:

Her forehead was flat and her hair muddy, but her cheekbones were set higher than those of the coastal tribes and her bronze skin seemed better cared for. Most telling of all she stood straight and calm, with a dignity their local captives lacked. She was the dusk, the evening star… And he, Marcellinus, was a bully and past his prime, and he knew it….

Thank you Alan!

(yes, I am a bit behind in this project)

Madame Ileana: Inspired by the character of that name from the first draft of Steven James Scearce‘s manuscript for Cottonwood (a novel).

 ****

And then I saw her.”

Who her?” Walter said.

Her. The dark lady with the top hat and the red scarf. She was one of the last to come out of the old car.

What the hell?

Thank you, Steve!

From a prompt by John Nakamura Remy:

Crow-seraphim: crow’s head and feet, six crow wings, human torso and arms, wielding a sword with black flame. guards the approach to the Tree of Death and Forgetting.

(I found myself unable to work in the extra wings and sword.  Maybe next time.)

Thank you John!

#2 The Dryad

#1 The Mother.

| November 1, 2011 | 5 Comments

Based upon a character that my friend Jacob Ruby created in one of his stories: he generously gave me permission to use her for inspiration.

The Mother, constantly springing forth tumor-like progeny from the very flesh of her body.
