30 Characters Challenger: Amanda Rachels

I’m a comic artist from Magnolia Springs, Alabama.  Turn-ons include Lex Luthor, Judas Priest, the Indianapolis Colts and dark theaters illuminated only by the work of Christopher Nolan.  My partner – writer Kevin LaPorte – and I produce a weekly vigilante/horror web comic, The Blind Eye, updating each Monday at http://blindeyecomic.com, and our clown slasher opus, Clown Town, is currently a finalist in Small Press Idol 2010!

The 30 Characters Challenge is a no-brainer for Kevin and I.  Character planning and design are two of the most enjoyable aspects of comic creation for us, and the very idea of bestowing a new imaginary life each day for a month is irresistible!  We’ll be delivering characters from a variety of story ideas we’ve thrown back and forth recently.  Ours will be a genre-spanning bunch, but, you should know, no matter what we start with thematically, horror concepts always work their way into what we do.  We can’t wait to get started!
