#10 PETRIKIN

| November 10, 2012 | 0 Comments

He lives on rock time. Every day is essentially the same day to him, until something New happens. Then, like most rocks can, he ‘throws’ his consciousness above and beyond the confines of his universe, to get a proper vantage point on the New Thing, and interact with it if possible.

The rock itself has an unpronounceable name, but the form you see is called PETRIKIN, a sort of spirit that is what rock consciousness looks like on the rare occasions it manifests in front of humans. To be honest, he can barely see you all. You look like momentary electrical storms to him, fizzing and sparking all over the place. The name is capitalized because all rock names are capitalized. That’s just how it is.

YOU WILL BELIEVE A ROCK CAN MOVE

ROCK ROCK ON

#3 – Rock

One of the things I loved about the Bronze-age Marvel books which I read as a child, was the seemingly endless supply of villains which at the end of every issue would appear, normally yelling out some threat, or smashing something to get the heroes tired attention.

We wanted to create a team of bad guys (or gals) who embodied just that sense – a kind of absurd “you cannot be serious!” moment, tempered with a realization that these people are bad and want to hurt the good guys. That they may actually be a threat!

Tomorrow and Saturday will see Rock joined by her team mates…

#25 Gnorn, Lord of the Gnoll

| November 30, 2010 | 0 Comments

Frightening to behold, but beyond gentle, the Gnoll call mountain-ranges home. Rarely coming to the surface, Gnoll prefer to let the surface-dwellers bicker amongst themselves. Gnoll are one of the oldest lived of all creatures, and their leader, Gnorn, remembers the birth of the first Dragon. Gnorn was also the first Gnoll to slay a Dragon, and because of that terrible accident, Gnoll’s are the only living creature Dragons fear.
