#5 – Everen the Naga

Everen the nagaOkay, this time I don’t have a story to go with it. I read ages ago about a version of naga that was a human’s head where the snake’s head was, as opposed to the more ‘taur’ version that’s common. I liked the idea, but I never got a chance to draw one out. So this is Everen, I imagine he just as crafty as one would expect nagas to be. His pattern is inspired by anaconda markings, so he would be the type to entice people to get close so he could eat them whole!

Gravewalker

This mysterious person always is seen in the winter, walking from grave site to grave site, smiling as they pass each and every tombstone. Though the living stay clear, once notices an air of tranquility in the graveyard after they’ve left.

#3 – Louise Smith

Louise was always a quiet girl, always kept to herself. When the plague came and swept across her city, she was asleep in her bed. When she awoke she had no idea where everyone else was. There were skeletons in her house and in the streets, and she couldn’t figure out why she was left behind. Unsure what to do, she goes about her routine as she did in life, waiting for some sort of resolution and in turn wallowing in her fear and anger, until one day she hears someone open her front door…

(urg, totally failed trying to do the effect I wanted, blar.)

#1 – Toska the Navigator

Toska the NavigatorSomeone has to get the ship from here to there, and like it or not, Toska is your alien. She (seriously?)(Yes, check the length of the face tentacles!) is exceptionally skilled piloting a wide variety of ships, and can pull some surprisingly agile moves from large freight ships and fighter vehicles alike, but don’t think that you can cause any shenanigans on her ship unless you want to find yourself stuck in cargo for the duration of the flight.

She often prefers to stay on the ship, even during missions since, like all of her race, she can’t handle the gravity of other planets very well without being nauseated and sick. Besides, someone has to guard the ship, pirates are everywhere.

2011 Challenger: Kelly Porteous

Elven Wizard  Hello everyone!  I’m glad I managed to get signed on to participate this year, since last year I didn’t find out about the 30 character challenge until after it was over! Oops~

My name is Kelly (though most people call me Luna due to my old online handle ‘lunajile’) I’m a freelance artist, and costume designer/seamstress from Calgary, Canada, but what I’m really wanting to do is get one of my comic series off the ground.

Since is the first time I’ve been able to attempt this challenge, I’m probably just going to do a free-for-all for my designs, but maybe next year I will try a specific theme.

Special thanks to the Ladies Making Comics tumblr for posting the info or I might have missed it a second year in a row, and that just won’t do!

I do have a webpage and a deviantart if it interests anyone~ I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with and wish everyone the best! Let’s do it!!
