I am a recent art school graduate and meandering hopeful freelance/comic artist who lives in the middle of the United States. When not doing work I like to play video games, watch dumb ghost-shows, read bad creepypastas and play Dungeons & Dragons with friends.
I also have a webcomic, which you should totally look at- http://oldbonescomic.blogspot.com/
Lugger is a minotaur. Unlike his more vicious brethren, though, he tends to be a lazy beast. He’s mostly content to lounge around in the center of his Labyrinth smoking his cigarettes and watching T.V. all day. In fact, most people are more likely to be killed by Lugger’s Labyrinth then they are to killed by Lugger himself.
Grigoroff the Great and Terrible was a powerful sorcerer who had turned himself into a lich for the sake of immortality. Unfortunately with the advancement in technology over the years, Griforoff found that his power in arcane magic became less and less relevant in the modern world. He eventually resigned himself to being an accountant. He’s now known as Greg the Business Lich.
Anyway, Caleb “Minnow” Jimms is the son of renowned biologist George Caleb Jimms II.His best friend is a panther named Jiblet, who was rescued as a cub and hand-raised by George. The two often venture into the jungle and fight the evils of poaching.
Most satyrs are known for their wild and rather hedonistic behavior. Tatharo, though, is a little different. He’s a quiet, bookish type of satyr who would rather spend his weekends at the library rather then go out drinking with the other members of his herd.
When Boots was a baby, he was rescued off the side of the road and taken to a local wildlife sanctuary. Having grown up amongst humans for all his life, he ended not being well-suited for life in the wild, so he became the pet for one of the shelter volunteers. While he has proven to be a fairly good companion, he’s not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
Murdoc Reynolds is a high-strung, easily exasperated, prima donna artist. He’s good at his craft and while well-respected in the art community, he does not have many friends within this personal life.
Mask Face is a mysterious creature with an incredible sense of balance and dexterity. It usually doesn’t interact or attack anyone, unless provoked. Unfortunately, what exactly it considers “provocation” is anyone’s guess.
Mr. Big Paw might be a bit rough around the edges, but he’s really not as bad as he seems. The scandalous rumors circulating about him and Little Red Riding Hood are all rubbish. He’s really all Granny’s boy at heart.
Drifter is a mysterious figure that can be seen in the loneliest areas of abandoned roads, the darkened corners under city bridges, and in the forgotten areas of civilization. She is always seen playing her banjo. If approached, she will only stop playing and respond to one request- asking if she can play you a song. She will ask you what you would prefer to hear- a song about the best or worst moment of your life. If you want to hear a song about your best moment, she will play a song that will be so intoxicating that you will feel all the highs and joy of your happiest time. You will almost relive that memory, exactly as if you were there again. After the song, you go on your way with nothing more gained or lost.
If you ask to hear her play a song about the worst moment of your life, she will sing a song that will cut into the very heart of your being and make you relive all of the pain your lowest time can bring. When the song is done, though, you will leave a much wiser person then before, understanding the world and your place in it a little better then before.
If asked why she is blindfolded, she simply says that it’s “to see your memories better”.
Little Lizzie is the ghost of an 8-year-old girl who had sadly died of consumption. She’s rather playful when other people aren’t around, but becomes very shy around the living. She only appears to those she can feel that she can really trust, mostly to mothers and/or motherly types.
Fat Bird Man… his superpower is a disarming sense of puffy fat bird cuteness.
Brutus is a little bull terrier puppy. Even though he is small now, he has plans on becoming the toughest dog this side of New Jersey.
Nobody knows what Horse is, but everyone has the same reaction to him- “No sir! I don’t like it!”
Mergla is a creature made by a powerful mage. It’s only purpose is to protect said mage’s treasure, even after the mage’s death. The mage’s treasure contains powerful magical artifacts, too dangerous for just anyone to use. It is said that only those who can pass Mergla’s tests of power will be able to wield the artifacts.
Martin Bauer is a German foreign exchange student in a Wisconsin high school. While in Germany, he had gone through years of therapy to help cope with his social anxiety. Even though he was able to build up his confidence in Germany, he found that his social anxiety has re-emerged in the United States. He does have a rather good grasp of the English language, he often uses a perceived language barrier as an excuse to avoid conversation. Despite his lack of confidence in social situations, he’s still rather well-liked by most of his class mates, as he’s a good athlete and a rather pleasant person all around.
Glooble is a monster, but she is neither fearsome nor does she eat people. She’s, in fact, quite gentle. Her favorite food is cake with strawberry frosting.
Morris Williamson is a man, a man who does not know exactly what he is. He’s not sure if he’s a mutated human, a strange new species, an alien, a scientific experiment gone wrong, or any other possibility. His lack of identity causes him great depression and confusion. Despite all this,he tries to do his best to achieve his goal in life- living a relatively normal, day-to-day life amongst other humans.
Glibnara is a goblin (or gobliness, if you want to be polite). She is considered to be very attractive by the standards of her fellow goblins. Unfortunately she is not too bright. She has the mentality of a particularly savage 5-year-old and has great difficulty understanding abstract concepts. She especially fears music, which she thinks is some sort of ear magic.
Haven’t really thought of a description for this guy. Kept it pretty simple tonight, as I’ve been pretty sick.
This is Jenni “Mayberry” Berette- the post-apocalyptic flower child. When she was 8, she had acquired what was left of a book about gardening (which was written before the apocalypse). Ever since then she was been absolutely fascinated by the plants that had grown on the earth before everything went to crap. She holds a particular fascination with flowers above all else. Being an artist by nature, she often makes flower-shaped trinkets and jewelry out of whatever scrap she can find. She one days hopes to either be able to A.) sell her flower jewelry and B.) be able to see an actual flower in her lifetime.
Howdy! I’m Sid Quade, a recent art graduate and aspiring comic/freelance artist. I recently stumbled onto this website and decided to give it a try. I have a great passion for character design and I’m looking forward to challenging my skills, as well as expanding my portfolio. This is my first time doing this, so I am excited to see what everyone else will come up with.
Currently I’m working on a fantasy webcomic called “Old Bones & New Meat”, as seen here- http://oldbonescomic.blogspot.com/
Portfolio work can be seen here- http://www.behance.net/SigridQuade
