#5 Muse

| November 5, 2010 | 0 Comments

At the turn of the century spiritualism is at a all time popularity. Guru’s of the time were used as advisers and confidants for the rich and famous. Jacobean Malcolm Muse was an adviser to many stage actresses in 1905-1908.  One of the most famous clients was actress Sara Bernard.  She said that Muse could make her fly and swoop around the stage with no use of wires or pulleys.

But Muse disappeared after a confrontation with Bernard.  Bernard claimed that Muse was becoming obtrusive in her life.  That he was changing her performances and influencing indecent behavior after hours.

(This is the only picture of Jacobean Malcolm Muse in the archives.)

Philip was a professional football player. He was very successful, until one day he was injured during the game. Phillip found himself in a dark world where a Sorceress gave him a Sword and Hammer to fight for the forces of good. With Battle-Bird as his steed, he fights the dark forces to save the land he now calls home.

But, he still has the sneaking suspension that this is all a weird coma dream.

Note: This character was inspired by two things…One: obviously He-man and two: this comic I pulled out of some old boxes Superpro.

I am really trying not to specialize any character types or genres… Whatever comes to me in my sketchbook is what gets delivered to you, daily… I’m also trying not to work ahead… But I will have to, to keep my weekends free with my wife.

#2 The Warriors

(This is a script I found recently in my records…I have never draw these characters before but they have been bopping around my brain for over 10 years. Does anyone have a better name for the group… I am taking suggestions, I don’t want to use the warriors.)

a.  (Est. Shot) Shot of a beautiful land, Mountains on the horizon to vast meadows of tall grass.

b.  (Full) Monumental rocks dot the plain with unusual, almost human shapes. Set between the rocks lays a meandering path. It is getting dark the shadows are long in the remaining daylight.

c.   (medium) We see four figures silhouetted against the beautiful setting.
“You know this is a trap.” Explained Munashi sarcastically.
“Yeah, I just assumed everybody knew it was?” quipped Iori.

Page 2-3
a.  (Large silhouettes) An army of ghouls stepped out of the shadows of the rocks.
“See,” Iori sarcastically. “Let’s do this!”

b. (Full bottom of 2 pages) Action of the team kicking ass. (Background) Yasu rushes the army of ghouls with his staff and knocks a fat ghoul to the next county. Iori dodges huge bolder thown by a big ghouls  (Iori is jumping over the bolder with his fists glowing) Munashi holds a smaller ghoul in his hands infecting it with his stone worms, as Miniko launches swords drawn into action.

30 Characters Challenger: Bob Learned

| October 31, 2010 | 0 Comments

I am a old school comic book geek…unashamedly. I have been reading and drawing comic books since I was able to draw at all.  I now work as a graphic artist in corporate hell… and enjoys  drawing comics on the weekend and after work.

I love to share my knowledge and abilities with anyone who loves comics and drawing.  Whenever I can show off my website or my webcomic I do.

I love drawing pop culture characters as well as my own characters. I love the idea of creating new characters and showing them off to you, and have you to share them with your own art friends.

You can follow me at @BobLearned on twitter.
