#10 Candle-Prophets

| November 11, 2011 | 0 Comments

Living candle-prophets. Known as Lidontztdoha in their language and Guillemet, for their rather strangely-shaped hoods. They speak in fragments of an unknown danger to the whole world, often burning up after delivering the message outright. Their lifespans are quite short and it’s not very uncommon to find them travel in groups.

The messages they tell to are often complete strangers who have nothing to do with each other, which makes the job of finding the whole message all the more difficult. Even more so, when the people hunted down for the prophecy’s words have forgotten them entirely.

Whether this was intentional on the candle-prophets’ part is unclear.

#9 Laura Poeschel

| November 9, 2011 | 0 Comments

Meet Laura Poeschel, daughter of a morgue keeper. She has a very keen interest in linguistics, though she can’t pronounce “r” right. Like her distant cousin of Amets Pessler, she is a psionic. She has the power to communicate with the dead and otherworldly beings. Though mainly she tries talking to the dead people found in the obituaries and her father’s morgue, a certain one-hoofed okapi would go its way into talking with her when she finds herself in trouble.

Then soon after, she would find herself free of her problems and see more dead people around. She wonders a lot about it.

There is no real picture of this monster, for all who have seen its true form had died before they get to describe it.

This is only one of the many interpretations of the beast, hiding in an abandoned house that only shows itself to those who are curious and willing enough to see it. There is a rumour that you shouldn’t look directly in His third eye. Others say you shouldn’t look at Him completely.

Regardless, it wouldn’t matter. He’s a shapeshifter.

And the body He had been born with was gone before the humans had existed.

He admittedly enjoys walking around the Earth in this form just to watch mortals suffer. If He decides to travel to other realms, it would make sure to use a form that isn’t extremely radioactive.

Then again, other beings in different realms aren’t invulnerable to His sadism. Even Geri Mareth wouldn’t dare to stay if He’s around.

If He takes an interest in you, please try to avoid Him as much as possible.

#7 Batteri

Though they might look like one of those cheap plastic toys, beware.

They’re actually living magnetic batteries that can hold more than enough electricity to power a car.

It’s not very common to find this species around urban areas. AI.ma.ROBO had been thinking about capturing the rare diamonds they are to sell as pets but quit once they found out how much damage its antennae could do.

Others have captured them just to use as tasers, though soon they find out they could kill people with them.

They have power plugs for legs so it’s not going to be hard for them to snack on electricity. They consume so much energy that the houses they break into find themselves in huge debt.

So far, they are considered either a great solution to the Energy Crisis or a horrible, horrible pest to cross paths with.

Donder kills stowaways for the notorious pirate crew, the Castaway Jailbirds. He works for them as a Gunner but prefers to use other weapons to execute stowaways.

#5 The Blind Pilgrim

| November 5, 2011 | 0 Comments

An orphaned half-elf, the Blind Pilgrim seems like the least of your concerns. After all, he can’t see.

But he can aim.

He takes pride in this and often starts fights with everyone. The only exception he brings to his fights is elves. He can’t fight them due to his undying loyalty to them, even though they never accepted him as an equal.

He wields two Pilcrow Axes that almost never fail to bring his opponents down. Though incredibly unfitting for an elf, he has these by his sides at all times.

Besides elves, the only remaining thing that could defeat him is his poetry recitals. He doesn’t have eyes to write, but he keeps a large amount of  memory potions of what he says at a given time. Should anyone else drink the same potions, they would be able to hear him prattle on about the joys of being an adventurer. They’re poetry’s equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.

Tired of seeing your children sad after a long, tiring day at work? Do you want them under surveillance, and communicate with them at such a long distance?

Fear no more for the NANIBOT will surely serve those purposes.

Built to be the perfect babysitter, the NANIBOT can recognize languages from over 40 countries! Dialects included.

Do not worry about water, because this bot is waterproof! And speaking of water, the robot comes equipped with a twin-beverage dispenser. Tap twice on the faucet to use. And tap 3 fingers on the faucet if you want to take them out, attached to a hose.

The detachable hat comes equipped with a built-in wireless camera, which could also be used for a webcam. This way, you could see the darling smiles on your children and ask about their days at school. The camera can also turn 180 degrees just in case your children are away from the robot’s eyes! Speaking of eyes, there is a projector lens we provide if your children want to watch a movie.

The printer collar is USB-enabled, so if you have no printer at home, NANIBOT will help along with that! We have put 10 cartridges of ink into the NANIBOT, and if you need more, don’t hesitate to call us.

The hands are entirely changeable, provided you give us the licence. Our catalogue of tools include staplers, swatters, scissors and more!

For all this, we bring you a lifetime warranty if your robot has its batteries gone. If you had stored albums of your family into the robot’s hard drive, we can make sure to put it into your new NANIBOT.

It’s only US$999 but your lives will surely change if you adopt this NANIBOT into your family.

Here in A.I.ma.ROBO, we try to provide customers with the most efficient products.

((I thank my friend Okibi for giving me some technical ideas for the robot!))

#2 Amets Pessler

| November 2, 2011 | 1 Comment

Meet Dr. Amets Pessler. She might have a reputation for being a quack doctor, but don’t listen to them.

She can project thoughts into people. And she uses them in her therapy sessions.

Oftentimes she would make her illusions so real that her patients would be cured in quite a short time.

Of course, she’d feel drained of her powers if she opens her office for too long. So it’s very, very rare to meet her outside.

They call her The Smiling Hourglass.
Only… “she” is not a real person.
“She” is actually two entities who live as Schrödinger’s cats.

If either one’s presence fails to be acknowledged by mortals, they’d turn into a wraith-like shadow that stalks the other entity.
It is the other one that turns into who they call “The Smiling Hourglass”.

They call her that because of how she seems to appear to people who have died near her. A smiling mask, an hourglass in hand.

She serves as a psychopomp to the story, taking the dead and bringing them to the afterlife. To mortals, she looks like a woman with a silly mask on. To the deities… well, let’s say it’s just not pretty.

Though not technically there, the shadow hinders the woman from her work, asking to eat the souls. Often, the Smiling Hourglass would kill a couple of animals to calm it down. If the demands become too much to handle, they would switch their roles.

Both the shadow and the woman should not be seen together, lest the world insists upon the day of the apocalypse…

I’m not sure if I could make the whole contest but I’ll try. This could be seen as a test of some sort since I’m not so well-adjusted with schedules.
