#27 – Feng ‘Fire Tiger’ Lin.

| November 27, 2012 | 0 Comments

You don’t get a reputation like the one ‘Fire Tiger’ has without being feared. An expert in the fighting style Krav Maga, and a cocky punk to boot, Feng makes a living for himself as hired muscle for the local ‘businessman’ Kang Quo.

Kang is the man around Feng’s community; the guy grew up here but went on to make a name, and a lot of money for himself. He owns a few fancy restaurants up town and that gives him the space and legitimatise he needs to run his less than legitimate gang. Gun running, protection rackets, dugs, stolen cars, Kang’s gangs have their fingers in a lot of pies. No one dares touch him though.

When you wrong Mr. Quo in anyway Feng Lin will arrive to teach you a lesson, a lesson with his fists. None have needed to be taught the lesson twice. While Feng isn’t exactly in love with his job, it pays well and its something he’s good at. He can’t turn his back on that.

Kang brought Feng in when he was young, he’d been running with a small time gang and getting into a lot of trouble. Kang saw the kid had some talent with his fists and wanted that talent working for him, so he gave Feng some work.

Now Feng is the guy all the locals are scarred off, he’s the last person they want to see. That’s the worst part of the job, being feared by everyone around you makes for a lonely life, but if he ever tried to leave the employment of Mr. Quo he’d have no life. Lonely is better than dead, or so Feng thought.

No one knew where he came from or who he was, he simply called himself Thunder fist. He’d turned up one night and made some trouble for one of Quo’s gangs, he didn’t kill any of the gang just made sure they wouldn’t be doing any work for a while. It’s hard to intimidate people with broken arms.

This Thunder Fist was getting under the skin of Quo, none of his men could find this guy let alone stop him, he called in Feng. Kang made it clear that if he couldn’t stop this guy then he’d best never show his face in town again.

Feng wasn’t given much choice, Thunder fist found him. Thunder and fire make for a pretty volatile mix.

17 – Alag’Har

| November 27, 2012 | 1 Comment

Alag’Har is of the Blackscale Lizardfolk tribes- enormous brutes the size of ogres, with black and green scales lightening to the tail, crocodilian features, and vibrant red neck frills that flare out in combat, or when excited. He is a young member of the race, barely ten years old, but already a keen learner, and very cunning.

Alag’Har has developed a strange obsession among his people. He loves the culture of humans- cooked food, soft beds, well spun cloth… and the heft of human weapons. His surprisingly friendly disposition has confused many a peasant and swamprat alike.

How he will fare in the lands of men remains to be seen…

#27 – Rupert

| November 27, 2012 | 0 Comments

This is Rupert, a sahuagin, monster-fish people, barbarian.

The idea for his design was inspired from a friend of mine wanting to get some betta fish for her aquarium. She asked me to draw a “fish guy” and this being a bunch of d&d-esque dudes/dudettes, adapting the  concept was easy.

I want the party to meet him as a beta-male wimpy sahuagin, and eventually confront him again when he grows into his siamese fighting fish heritage. Dunno if I want him to be a straight up antagonist, maybe like a nice guy just pushed over the edge. And the party will have to whup his ass to set him straight.

Day 27: The Risen Grave

| November 27, 2012 | 1 Comment

Some say that Old Saint Oliver’s Cemetary holds the most powerful spirits in the New World. Reports can’t count the number of witnesses who have heard voices among the graves or seen flashes of strange movement at night. But when the ghosts get really riled up and are rallied by the powerful soul of a forgotten hero, the earth itself becomes possessed, rises up on two powerful legs, and sometimes even leaves the burial grounds to haunt the city and right wrongs.

E’ma dangles a fan

Jiang Maqiaodi was a beauty of from the mainland central of Ao Lai. In life, she was a skilled calligrapher and connoisseur of fine paintings. She was said to be intelligent and witty. Maqiaodi had a sharp tongue, according to those reports from those that knew her, but apparently she also kept to herself. The Ao Liese language, Harayin, has hundreds and hundreds of characters, and she strove to learn as many of them as possible. The sad fact of the matter is that she died suddenly due to an unknown yet powerful illness. Now they say you can see her haunting places of knowledge. Her favorite is the Nation’s Library of Ao Lai, where she may be seen reading books of Harayin or examining the many woodblock art on display there.

E’ku holds a bag of goods

Banda Kura was once a well-off merchant, one of the few that traveled between only a few towns. While he did not sell grand things, he was a smart yet honest businessman who cared for his customers and provided dependable products. While traveling alone, E’ku was ambushed during his rounds. Sadly, he didn’t survive. However, his ghostly spirit is said to travel along the route he used to walk while alive. Eyewitnesses say he holds a bag, the content of which is debated. Is it the goods he last carried, his own remains? On an interesting note, his route went between the Nippon towns Niwengmura and Reihu’a’mura, and each town has its different idea of what’s in his bag.
