#1 The Blind Guardian

| November 1, 2010 | 10 Comments

The Blind Guardian is a clone originally developed by his masters to guard the mammoth underground prisons of Morgus Kaior. Developed to instill fear in any unfortunate enough to be imprisoned here, the Blind Guardian is ruthless and careless. He uses a form of sonar to see. His masters reasoned that a prison full of guards with no eyes makes for an even less personal imprisonment as no eye contact can ever be made. The Blind Guardian have been known to be used for other purposes as well. Valued for their cruelty, but staunch loyalty, they are often used to guard the riches of wealthier nobles, and crazier mages who might be willing to keep a Blind Guardian in ones keep.

Nice work. I’m a little out of the loop with my 3D. What program are you using?

Thanks :). No worries, for this model I used almost all zbrush but plan to work with maya a little bit too. Zbrush tends to be my favorite for quicker work though, and concepting. It’s very artist friendly.

Wow! That is definitely worth the wait! Amazing pieces.

Much obliged. I wanted to start with a bang so I went all out (although failed to get everything in that I wanted). I can’t guarantee that I’ll be doing full bodies every day. We’ll see how my sanity holds up though. Had a lot of fun with this one so we’ll see.

Fantastic work Tim! I knew you wouldn’t disappoint 🙂 Really dig the attention to detail on the stomach and ribs – really nice subtle muscle-work going on there.

Thanks a lot Dan. I’ve been spending lots of time lately looking at anatomy books, makes it easier. Although, how about those knees? Those are the best knees I’ve ever done, I hate knees! ;).
