| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Name: Janice Dalton

Aliases: Quantum Lass, Johnnie, Cloud

Height: 5’6

Weight: 133 lb

Hair: Black

Eyes: Brown

Bio: Janice was born 1975 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a straight-A student throughout high school, with an average GPA of 3.9 and several college credits to her name. She attended Duke University, where she got her degree in sub-atomic chemistry. She earned her PhD in 2001.

In 2004, she was offered to join Operation: At the Gates. While working at the think tank, Janice volunteered to test a molecular destabilizer.

The weapon short-circuited when it was attempted to fire, and the resulting explosion killed two security personnel and wounded four others. Janice was among the wounded.

Three months later, she had fully recovered from her injuries, and her powers had manifested. She has served as a member of the Task Force since.

Powers: Can transform all or part of her body into a cloud of barely connected molecules. The cloud is utterly impervious to harm by anything besides weaponry that operates on an atomic level.

The cloud of molecules can also pass through solid surfaces and move at speeds significantly higher than Janice’s running speed.

Scientists believe that terror birds were very quick runners, reaching speeds of up to 30 mph!

Sarge is the type of mouthy, military dudes that gets his charges fired up for battle through those dang insults about yo’ mama. He does back up his words by fighting mightily, if not aimlessly, in the trenches.

#4 The Foolish King

| November 4, 2011 | 5 Comments

A foolish king. Brash and arrogant with his decisions, he meets his end at his own hands, too disillusioned and egotistical to let anyone else take his own life. Spur-of-the-moment character, I had an image of a lion represented in a regal manner in my head, and wanted to let that out with a tragic twist. So here’s that.

#4 – The NinjaBread Man

| November 4, 2011 | 2 Comments

The NinjaBread Man

Vowing to avenge his family after they were savagely eaten at a suburban Christma party, the once cute GingerBread Man could take no more of humanity. Arming himself with a candy cane bo staff and concealing his identity with a strand of Christmas ribbon, he wreaks havoc through the neighborhoods in his area.

His typical method of attack is at night while humans are walking on the snowy streets.  He uses Dough Foo, to cause people to loose their balance and become injured.

If you listen carefully on an icy night, you can hear his squeaky voice in the distance, chanting his hunting song:
“Run, Run, Run, as fast as you can. You can’t escape me, I’m the NinjaBread Man!”

While some say he has gone completely over to the burnt side, those closest to him remind us that he still hasn’t given up his colorful gum drop buttons, so there is still hope.

I hope you enjoyed this holiday inspired submission, it’s actually the first picture I’ve tried to draw and color myself, hence the poor quality.

#4 – Harry Alias

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

[The following was taken from reports to Interpol Director Francis Croke on the suspected personal of a international organization known as A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A. Whether A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A is a vigilante group, freedom fighters or terrorists is still being investigated]

Name: Harry Vorak

Alias: Harry Preston, Harry Trent, Harry Cale, Harry Gibbons, Harry Cain, Harry Smith, Harry Kent, Harry Gregg, Harry Clark, Harry Allen, Harry Jordon, Harry Rayner, Harry West, Harry Horn, Harry Jackson, ect

Age: 31

Height: 6’0

Current weight:140

Hair: Black

Eyes: Green

Group Affiliations: A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A

Distinguishing skills/features: There are reports that harry uses two single shot pistols that he keeps spring loaded up his sleeves. There are also reports that he keeps a collapsable sword somewhere on his person at all times. He is an expert illusionist and escape artists that he used to great effect during his days as a thief.

History: Harry Vorak was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to a show girl mother and although his father is unknown we have reason to believe that he was a notable stage magician that paid off Harry’s mother to avoid a scandal. His mother used this money to ensure that Harry could attend prestigous private schools where Harry excelled at academics at an early age, and became renowned competitor in fencing. However as he got older he exhibited certain rebellious tendency such as gambling, drinking and perhaps the worst (at least in his mothers eyes) he began practicing practical magic to the point where he was being paid to play small parties at the age of sixteen. By the time he graduated  he was offered a prestigious apprenticeship under master magician Trevor Faust, a disciple of Houdini.

Its at this point Harrys life started getting complicated, although he was learning by leaps and bounds under Faust his relationship with his mother deteriorated due to her belief he was throwing his life away. After this Harry threw himself into his work, becoming a master escape artist and close up magician within three years. This was also around the time he became a barely functioning alcoholic until the night Faust died in an attempted escape due to Harry’s own carelessness. He quit drinking that night.

After this Harry started touring on his own, but in all of the places he performed a theft of notable valuables was always reported. Eventually was caught stealing from a museum that hired him for a charity dinner. He evaded the authority’s and began his traveling again under assumed aliases, Only keeping a name long enough to finish a job.

It is not believed that Harry keeps any of the money from his thefts, just his stage performances, as it appears whatever money he got from selling stolen valuables was given to take care of his mothers hospice bills. His Mother does not seem to know her son is paying for these fees, only told its being handled by a wealthy benefactor.

Present Day: Its believed that harry was recruited into A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A around the time BT Barnum was which both explains why all warrants for Harrys crimes were resended (it has been proven that  A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A has tremendous reach in most governments) and how he began working as BT Barnums assistant.

Psych Evaluation: Like most magicians Harry has issues with telling the truth  which frequently denies him the ability to have truthful long lasting relationships. And although his outer exterior may be flippant and nonchalant he is haunted by the fact he is responsible for the death of his mentor and the declining health of his mother. More than any other agent of A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A we have encountered Harry seems to have the most drive to better himself or risk being devored by his own inner demons.

#3+4 Princess Creole and Warrior Tan

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

On a distant planet there lives a race of alien shamans, a once peaceful people that have been forced into war by neighboring ruthless aliens. Princess Creole, carrying the reincarnation of their greatest existing spiritual warrior, is the last hope of her race. Along with Creole’s trusted bodyguard Tan, the two must escape their planet and find a safe place to birth their savior before Creole is assassinated by the rival aliens. The most boring, overlooked, insignificant planet in the galaxy? Earth.

(Woo, first slightly-colored submission! I was going to color the armor versions of the two, but I got lazy so it’s all sketchy… I’m hoping I’m right in saying that that crossed+dotted circle means ‘mother earth’?)

#4- Mutant Minion

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

This is just one of the many mutants running wild throughout downtown Detroit.  An anonymous terrorist threat revealed that all these “mutants” work for one man.  However, at this point, he has let his identity remain a mystery.  Scientific study of these creatures reveals that they are not human, and most probably created in a lab somewhere.  They carry tech far beyond that of the U.S. military despite their seeming lack of individual intelligence.

#3- Jenny Elin

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Jenny is just a normal teenaged girl.  She doesn’t have superpowers, but she’s pretty good at math.  She’s never rescued someone from a burning building, but she’s beginning to become appealing to the boys.  She can’t leap buildings in a single bound, but the Detective once saved her Grandpa from a robbery.  Jenny’s pretty normal, but special in her own way (or at least that’s what her parents tell her).

3 – Dorthea Young

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

(for all characters and other things check out my tumblr for my other work check out my website.  Also please click image for full size)

  • The resident witch.  She lives in the old mansion on the edge of town by herself.  She’s misanthropic, to be polite about it.  Her connection to Jack and co. and the increasing weirdness of events has lead her to interact with the world more.  She’s not happy about that.
  • Dorthea and Jack: Dorthea is suspicious of Jack because she knows enough to be.  Jack’s abilities make no sense which worries her, she recognizes that Jack is hiding a lot of secrets.  Her secret is that she actually sort of likes him as company.
  • Appearance: Freckles everywhere!  Short blond hair brushed back, bags under eyes, smokes, wears sports wear (sweatpants tang tops, doesn’t care about appearance), no chest, blue eyes, looks a bit like death warmed over, she has a burn around her wrist that comes from using her illumination spell too much
  • She inherited the mansion, she was a debutant once
  • Family: deceased (or so we assume)
  • Don’t call her Dotty

Day Four – The Tekk

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Tekk are a common kind of monster, they are found in groups in deserts and spend a lot of time bothering the local villagers. They’re not too tricky, even for an amateur monster hunter to deal with!

2 – Ophelia Sinclare

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

(All previous characters can be found on my tumblr, http:// maggiedreadful.tumblr.com)

  • Ophelia is an odd duck.  Introverted and quiet, Ophelia has gone through her life mostly unnoticed, probably because those who try to talk to her find that conversing with her is like trying to talk to someone who knows the technicalities of English but has a hard time translating their thoughts into it.  Being unnoticed has made Ophelia a good spy and thief, which has made her very useful to Jack.
  • The only one who really gets Ophelia is Jack, they have telepathy or something.
  • Appearance: Black hair, black eyes, big coat and concealing clothing that dwindles as she gets more confidence later on
  • Family: Mom, Dad, Older Sister – her family doesn’t get her, they’re bourgeoisie

#4: David

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

KENNETH:  What is there to tell you?  He’s tall, he’s almost completely clueless, he doesn’t have a care in the world, and he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.

KENNETH:  And that there is the problem.

PSYCHIATRIST:  Problem?

KENNETH:  Yeah, his fatal flaw.  He’s too damn nice, which makes it easier for people to take advantage of him.  Too easy, if I’m honest about it.

PSYCHIATRIST:  Really?

KENNETH:  Oh, yeah; he’s too gullible for his own good.  He thinks I don’t notice when he starts a tab for some of the old folks that come in here, and then covers the tab out of his own pocket.  But I do.

PSYCHIATRIST:  Interesting.  Can you give me another example?

KENNETH:  How many are you looking for?  Because I’ve got a shedload of stories like that.  Like teh other night, for instance; this woman shows up and–

KENNETH:  Hang on, here he comes.  Gonna have to stow that one away for another time.

DAVID:  Hello, chaps!

KENNETH:  Davey-boy!  How are you doing?

DAVID:  Brilliant!  First I went ’round to the shops and–

KENNETH:  David–

DAVID:  –and they didn’t have it in plaid, so I asked–

KENNETH:  –David–

DAVID:  –and can you believe it that they had the nerve to tell me that–

KENNETH:  DAVID!

DAVID:  Yeah, Kenny?

KENNETH:  Focus, buddy.

DAVID:  Oh – okay.

KENNETH:  Davey, I’d like you to meet Dr.  Mattersby.  He’d like to speak with you for a little bit.

DAVEY:  Oh, hi!

KENNETH:  Well, I’m going back behind the bar.  Call me if you need anything.

DAVEY:  Bye, Kenny!

DAVEY:  …

DAVEY:  Is he gone?

PSYCHIATRIST:  He’s back behind the bar, if that’s what you mean.

DAVID;  Brilliant!

DAVID:  See he thinks that I’m not all there.

PSYCHIATRIST:  You don’t say.

DAVID:  Well, between you and me, that’s all a bit of a lark on him.

PSYCHIATRIST:  Is it?

DAVID:  Course it is!

DAVID:  I mean, I’m nice and all, no hiding that, but I’m not a daft as he thinks I am.

DAVID:  After all, look around.

DAVID:  Go on – look!

PSYCHIATRIST:  What am I supposed to be looking at?  Besides the crowd at the bar.

DAVID:  You, me – sitting here, enjoying pints.  While he’s over there, working like a dog.

PSYCHIATRIST:  So?

DAVID:  So?  So, he says – so?

DAVID:  Sooooooooooo – it’s supposed to be my shift at the bar right now.

DAVID:  How’s that for smart, eh?

Mins DelaCroix

| November 4, 2011 | 1 Comment

Mins Delacroix awoke having no memory of her past and who she was. Add to that, the gauntlets that were now fused to her hands. Screaming and crying in a child like state, the closest memory she has to her enigmatic past is a flash of blinding light, and the words “Electra-clytemnestra” .  For countless years,  she has haunted the witchfenns looking for answers to who she was and now is. She is accompanied by a silver grey cat named pyewacket.

Violet Richards

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

And she stayed behind. She had realized her mistake some weeks after she broke up with him, but she didn’t want to complicate things between them. They were pretty bad already and she didn’t want to screw it up. Her name? Violet Richards, a pretty hot waitress, the only one that had attracted his attention way back in time. She looked amazing, with her purple hair, dyed every month in order to be taken care of, with more lively colours. She wanted to smoke so badly the moment she saw him. She wanted to talk to him, but she just couldn’t run after him. Not after what she said to him. And so the story ended, quite uneventfully. And Violet stayed behind.

Gabriel Saxton

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Well, it seems that he appeared for one more coffee after all. Every day, same time, even after what happened the previous day. And what happened was an unexpected encounter with his ex. She happens to be working there, but he didn’t know at first. She got the job some months after he got used to that habit. She was there once again, looking at him over the counter. He liked the coffee there, it was pretty damn good, so he’d order one, no matter what. So, he raised his hand. The girl walked to him in order to take his order. A cappuccino latte. She brought it to him. He was tempted to get up and pull her closely, stroke her hair and kiss her, but the ending of the story was clear. He wasn’t man enough for her. He was hiding it, but his true sex was female. And she knew it and she couldn’t be with him, while he still was in the middle, causing confusion to the masses. He pulled his black hair backwards and sighed, before stroking his stubble a bit. He started singing an old Scottish song to himself and took a sip from the beverage. He didn’t have much time to drink it, he had to go to work. He was dressed for that. A suit, white shirt, red tie, coal jacket. So he drank it up and then got up, walked to the counter, placed the money on it and walked away, still having bitter feelings. And that is Gabriel Saxton, a man born different, a man that couldn’t be accepted by anyone just yet.

#4 Spring Chicken

| November 4, 2011 | 7 Comments

Kenneth Fowler never had an easy life, always on the brink of a mental collapse from his high stress job as chicken farmer. The one thing he always prided himself on however was his youthful appearance and vibrant energy. So when at the doctor’s office for his decennial checkup he was told he was no longer a spring chicken and should slow down, Kenneth snapped. He barricaded himself in his house for weeks eating nothing but chicken while fashioning himself a chicken suit made out of chickens. One way or another he would be called a spring chicken once more. So far he’s just been referred to as “Crazy Kenny” and thus his hopping continues.

#4 Firesprite

| November 4, 2011 | 4 Comments

Lia Galloway had a happy childhood, being the child of British/Chinese parents.  No one would have guessed that she would become a criminal–a super-powered one, at that–in the future.

Sadly, Lia ended up as a member of Mitchell Baranovich’s enforcer unit due to the emergence of her powers during her third year of college.   The event was traumatic and sudden.  Terrified and uncertain of what to do, she was easily manipulated by Baranovich’s smooth words and easy manner.

Lia can use the mitochondria in her cells to generate an energy field which allows her to fly and also create plasma charges, or “fireballs” and hurl them at others.  The downside is that her hair, irises, and pupils have turned snow white.  Taking the name “Firesprite”, she carried out attacks against Baranovich’s enemies without question.

However, during a battle between the superheroes Windwalker and Astral, Lia started to doubt her place in Baranovich’s crime syndicate.  Also, despite all her efforts to deny it, she began to develop feelings for Astral (aka Billy Whittaker)–a reluctant hero who used his powers for good not for wealth or glory but because it was the right thing to do.  Lia then left Baranovich’s enforcers and now operates on her own, independent of any group.  Sometimes she allies with Astral, sometimes she does the wrong thing–but still, Lia, as Firesprite, considers herself truly free and finally able to pursue her own future following her own rules.

#4 – Minister Khefir

| November 4, 2011 | 7 Comments

Not entirely sure if I like the colors. I kinda do, kinda don’t. I spent a lot of time tinkering with them and finally decided to be done.

Anyway, this guy’s not all that pleasant to be around, especially if you’re a sorcerer in Aremshah. He basically controls your life. Can’t imagine why he’s nervous about a sorcerer being in a higher position than him 🙂
