Day 3 – Fendi

| November 3, 2011 | 0 Comments

Fendi’s the “homme fatale” to Casey’s detective. He almost got her killed once (though that tends to happen with people he works with). He’s a hedonist, but he can do a little magic and manipulate cone cells. Some people attribute his suspiciously bright clothing to his magic, but he assures them it’s the real deal.

He looks sneaky, but he really doesn’t talk much. Makes it easier for him to slip away when plans crash and burn around him…

#2 – Bogrüll Medic

| November 3, 2011 | 0 Comments

Name: Bogrüll Medic

Species: Bogrülls

Description: After discovering a brand new world,   our Recon Unit, the SFX-2000, spent its second day in the Bogrülls’ world and found a strange building that looks like our hospitals here, on our planet. The hospital was almost empty (maybe a sign of a very healthy population?). But the SFX-2000 did encounter that fellow, which, without a doubt, is a doctor in this strange hospital. One notable strange fact: what appears to be a common monitor, seems to be working by itself, without the help of the doctor. Could it be some sort of advance robotic system?

I’ve updated Cucumber Hendrix, the character I used to draw when I was really young. He was kind of … my FIRST character. And I must have been about 10-13. And I came up with this.

Cucumber Hendrix has all the powers of a man with a Cucumber lodged in his brain. Luckily this hideous accident has given him the ability to do anything. Literally. But he often forgets until 10 minutes to the end of the episode.

I was a disturbed child. And my parents were SURPRISED when I came out to them.

Day Three – The Duke and Valkyrie

| November 3, 2011 | 1 Comment

I know it’s two characters, but I couldn’t really justify giving these two a day each!

The Duke and Valkyrie are Ellie’s only companions on her quest to track and slay monsters. Unfortunately they aren’t the most useful of companions and have no monster slaying skills, but they still offer some much-needed company. The Duke loves sleeping and food, he hates having to wait for food. Valkyrie likes the quiet, she is scared of absolutely everything else.

#3 Billy

| November 3, 2011 | 2 Comments

The Twelve.

Billy-boy here was born in March. People didn’t know what to expect, what kind of a beast would the March’s cursed baby be. When Billy was born, people really thought that an alien came out. Rabbit babies aren’t really that cute when just born, so go and figure how “cute” they are when a rabbit headed human baby with a twenty times bigger head than an usual rabbit baby has comes to this world.

Anyway, Billy turned out to be a really cute child. When he was a teenager, punk was something that turned out to be “his thing”. He was pretty rebellious teenager, a bit angsty too. He became more sensible when he was around 20-years-old. He still does have that punk spirit in him, though.

When not drunk, Billy is a rather quiet person, keeping company to himself. He does enjoy company that involves other people a lot too, but in those situations he’s more like an observer.
Whenever Billy is drunk (and alcohol is his lover…………….) , he gets into fights a lot. Silly bunny.

Aprilll tomorrowww!

#3-Vita

| November 3, 2011 | 0 Comments

Vita is the son of Morte, also known as the Grim Reaper. The thing is Vita has always been a strange child. Where his father harvests souls and is the embodiment of death, Vita wants nothing to do with the family business. He wants to spend his days being the embodiment of life by tending his garden and spending time with his animal friends.

Not a whole lot to say about this quiet fellow. He is an older gentleman.  He don’t talk but is very polite and always holds the door open for others. Doesn’t help the creepyness factor of his job though. He is a moth person.

#3 ‘The Dragon’

| November 3, 2011 | 0 Comments

he goes by many names ‘Hydra’ ‘Loch Ness monster’ sometimes even ‘falcon’ if he’s feeling bored, the Dragon is a force of power that influences everyone’s life at least once,  often giving reference to a great battle between him and a creature called “The Balrog… no not the one out of that book. That would just be silly” the true extent of his influence is as of yet unknown, he’s only ever been known to talk to Holmes and even then he only ever talks to him when everyone else is out, Holmes is usually in his bathroom or bedroom at the time as well

#3 Atash al Darakhshan

| November 3, 2011 | 5 Comments

Let’s continue the story! Meet Atash al Darakhshan, better know as the Red King (gee I wonder why). The king of the earth mages. A kind, jovial, somewhat over-enthusiastic guy with a firm grip on his country. He’s the first earth mage king in years who managed to centralize the entire government of his country and place all control in his own hands. Things were going pretty well: working hard ruling the country during the day, smoking pot at night and fighting tournaments in the weekends. Atash was pretty satisfied with his life and what he had accomplished, and was actually ready to lay back and enjoy a life of routine. Until at some point rumours started spreading through the country about strange people that had been spotted near the border with the Northern mountain ranges. Atash decided that routine was boring anyway and went to investigate. And thus he stumbled upon the Tegus Erdene, Batachikhan and their colony of air and water mages, who had been living in the mountains for about ten years without ever realizing that there were other people living in their holy land.

This caused (what a suprise!) some problems. The “funny” thing about this situation is that not only did the Tegus Erdene and Batachikhan see Atash and his people as strange, barbaric people who had entered the country given to air and water mages by their Goddess (despite the fact that the earth mages had lived in that land longer than they had), the interesting thing was that the earth mages and air/water mages were complete opposites in almost every single way. The most crippling problem was that the air/water mages were a matriarchal society, the earth mages a patriarchal society. The Tegus Erdene and Batachikhan didn’t want to acknowledge Atash as leader of the earth mages because he was male, while Atash didn’t want to acknowledge the Tegus Erdene as leader of the air/water mages because she was female.

This could have resulted in a destructive war and the end of the history of either the earth or the water/air mages, if it wasn’t for both the leaders’ personalities. Atash was a very curious, inquisitive man, and actually would rather learn more about these strange mages who could control water or air and were female dominant than get caught up in a war with them. The Tegus Erdene was a softy and a pacifist who just wanted everyone to be happy and get along with each other. So after a few months of tension, they decided to put aside their differences. Atash and the Tegus Erdene actually became very good friends, spending hours together talking with each other about their cultures and believes. The earth mages watched this interest of their king for the strange foreigners with suspicion. The more time Atash spend with the Tegus Erdene, the more his strong grip on his country loosened and the more people started protesting against him and his relaxed attitude towards what the earth mages saw as foreign invaders. The earth mages were not the only ones who were dissatisfied with the peaceful situation. Batachikhan was convinced that the strong contrast between the air/water mages and earth mages would inevitably lead to war. And she wanted to make sure that she and her people would get the first move.

The Tegus Erdene, as mentioned before, was very sickly. About two years after meeting Atash and the earth mages, she died of heart failure. While Atash was mourning the death of his friend, Batachikhan prepared for war…

Story continues with the next character, as usual!

#3: Entropy

| November 3, 2011 | 5 Comments

Name: Charles Feron

Aliases: Charlie, Angel, Safety Net, Entropy

Height: 5’11

Weight: 137 lb

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Blue

Biography Charles was born in the Bronx to a lower middle class family of Italian descent in1981. When he was 23, he graduated from Berkeley as an engineering major. Shortly after his graduation, the rift opened in 2004.

Charles was extremely close to the rift when it opened. Unverified reports claim he was, in fact, the closest person to escape being sucked to the other side.

Three months later, Charles’ powers manifested.

Powers: None, in his normal state. Charles is an unaltered human with the capability to switch himself with a parallel version of himself, a being calling itself Entropy.

Entropy’s Powers: Decay: Entropy can rapidly age anything he touches. Organic life quickly shrivels and dies, metals rust, woods splinter, and paper disintegrates at his touch.

More resilient materials, such as plastics or glass, can resist these powers for a length of time.

Enhanced strength, speed, and reflexes as well.

[The following was written by Agent Thomas from the Bureau of Extradimensional Affairs.]

“Entropy is a high level criminal on the other side.  He’s not like Carson Douglas over here, the entire country is in an out-and-out war, with Entropy fighting the government themselves. There’s 70 million dollars on his head, but good luck claiming it.

Anyways, our intel suggests Charlie doesn’t so much become Entropy as switch places with him temporarily. The world’s worst criminal and some kid from the Bronx switch places in their respective dimensions, and we’ve been trying to coordinate some sort of trap, so we can switch out Entropy for Charlie at a critical moment.

Of course, if that happens, then it’s our universe that’s stuck with the nigh-invincible supercriminal…”

#3 Mitchell Baranovich

| November 3, 2011 | 2 Comments

Philanthropist, inventor, billionaire with a heart of gold, man-about -town….Mitchell Baranovich is the founder and head of one of the world’s biggest tech companies, and with his movie star looks and affable personality, he’s certainly well regarded by the people.

But it’s all an act.

In reality, Baranovich is head of a world-wide crime syndicate, with an emphasis on illegal technology transfers and arms dealing.  He also has a group of superpowered “enforcers” who take care of business when clients get cold feet or do not get their payments in on time.  While he is a skilled martial artist and is familiar with all small arms and military assault weapons, Baranovich is escorted by two female agents in special exoskeletons that enhance their strength and are impervious to most small arms fire.

Baranovich is a cold, calculating man who is able to project the image of a spotless, scandal-free man of wealth to an unsuspecting population.  He’s perhaps the most dangerous foe Andrea Tennant–aka “Windwalker”–has ever faced.

(The name of this character was taken from two characters from one of my favorite novels, Firefox.)

Nicknamed “The Devil,” she is a powerful piece in a drug cartel of a big metropolitan city, in a 1950s-America-with-scifi type setting. Her heritage includes black, white, Japanese and species of dinosaur-like people which were unearthed by a mining excavation. She has a child who she shelters from the dangers of her criminal life. She also is involved in an ongoing illicit affair with an important policeman, a tribute to her success in her line of work.

A little late posting here, but everything will continue to be crossposted at my art tumblr!

Terror Birds are the only known large predator species to migrate from South America to the southern United States.

Meat Rage would be the closest of the “Terror Birds” I draw in this collection that actually resembles a real terror bird. As the name suggests, this gal is a thoughtless, vicious, carnivorous eating machine. Think Looney Tunes’ Tazmanian Devil as a dino-bird.

Day 3: Shaina Laroux

| November 3, 2011 | 1 Comment

Two drawings of a black woman with a mohawk: in one, she is standing in a short red dress, looking annoyed. In the other, she is sitting on a bench wearing boxing gloves, a sports bra and shorts.

Shaina Laroux is an ex-boxer. Her mother, from Paris, moved to Los Angeles in the late 70s, and had Shaina in 1986. When Shaina was in her late teens, she boxed frequently. Eventually her parents made her stop after she was nearly killed. Now in her mid 20’s, she has decided to get a degree in the small town of Ridgeville, Iowa.

#3 – Catala

| November 3, 2011 | 6 Comments

Remember this guy? Well, this is what the women of his race look like. Tall, purple, and willowy.

I didn’t get her completely shaded so I’ll probably replace this image later this evening. She looks a lot better even with the partial shading than without, so I decided to put her up like this.

I should note that in Musia, gender roles are very defined. Women handle most financial matters, men deal with most security and military matters. The two cogs function well as part of a larger whole, resulting in two Musian-led empires in recorded history. That’s why Musian men and women will typically dress and act very differently from each other. It’s almost like they live in two separate cultures.

Musians also have three names, similar to Roman names. They typically go by their “middle” name, with the first being used for formal occasions and the last being how they identify family associations.

I have plans for at least two more Musians (one male, one female), so stay tuned!

EDIT: I realized I left out a word. It should say “she runs a mercantile empire” instead of “she runs a empire”

#3 – Maria Toella Zunft

| November 3, 2011 | 2 Comments

Reserved is the first word one would use to describe Maria. She has been the Doctor for the Wizard’s Academy for over 20 years, and has grown to disdain the other Wizards like one looks down upon a a gaggle of unruly siblings. Though she couldn’t’ be brought to truly hate them, she does judge others on a constant basis, and can be quite opinionated on the rare occasion that someone demands to know what she thinks. For the most part the other wizards are glad that at least one of them has the adeptness and level-headed demeanor with wounds and healing that Maria has, and their occasional praise and her comfortable position at the Academy has kept her their despite having no real love for the place or people there.

It is that cool and observation personality that aided Leandra once. The master she had been apprenticing under had become more and more violent over time, and when Maria discovered her at the bottom of a flight of stairs, she investigated the wounds further, suspected foul play, and immediately wrote a report to the headmasters demanding that they deny that Master any more apprentices. In that way she also shows her last notable trait: a soft spot for younger Wizards. In her mind, it’s only as they age that they become wicked or slothly, so she shows a much gentler touch to her younger wards, especially since they are still endebted to the system, and by her mind, innocent and worthy of protection. She has been known to buy candies and distribute them amongst the children in the dormitories. On the same day, she might pour medicine into the food of her more disliked fellow Wizards to keep them from keeping down an over-eaten meal.

#3 Shadow

The name was supposed to be ironic.  At least it was, in his mind.  Ever since the agra-factories stripped bare the topsoil in a harried response to the latest bout of famine, the dust began to blow.  And ever since the ever-present dust hit the air, no one had shadows.  So that was the name he took.  No more Ted Franks, high school physics professor and amateur biologist.

That man had evaporated.  To be fair, he knew he couldn’t just blame careless large-scale farm companies for the dissolution of Mr. Franks.  No one could have predicted the massive storm that riddled the bible-belt with class five tornadoes during Easter Week.  Or the genius wack-job who would take it as his sign and blow his dirty-bomb masterpiece all the way up and down the western bank of the Mississippi.

Even then, “Ted Franks” could have survived.  He could have gotten out even after the contagious biological component to the bombs had been discovered and the steel wall had been raised, closing in what was now referred to as the “Q-Zone.”  Q for quarantine.  He’d spent months trying to come up with some other witty meaning for it, but he was a science-guy, not a word-guy, and he wasn’t about to try and track down the English department.  They had been bossy bitches even when the world had been normal.

Shadow didn’t doubt that he could have gotten out.  He’d had proof positive of it when a contingent of hazmat-suited special forces types had come to his door.  Well, they didn’t quite make it to his door.  They stopped in the driveway where Shadow waited for them, shotgun not aimed but well in hand.  They didn’t bother saying much, just handed him a cell phone and walked back to their hum-vee, leaning against it with arms crossed, letting him know real clear that they knew they weren’t out of gun-range and they didn’t give a fuck about it.  Letting him know they were backing off so that he’d un-wad his panties, and not because they thought he was in any way a credible threat.

He didn’t blame them.  Shadow knew he didn’t have a chance against these bastards, but he wanted them to be certain that he wasn’t going to go down easy.  He could hear the drone flying somewhere way, way up there.  Things had gotten so quiet around that that kind of thing was impossible to ignore.  As was his sister’s voice, coming out tiny but insistent on the phone he was gripping, having somehow almost forgotten how to use it.  Until he held it up to his ear and remembered exactly how much he hated these tiny bits of plastic you could never wedge between your chin and shoulder.  He caught himself upraising his pinky, the effeminate curse these little machines always had on him.

His sister told him, in no uncertain terms, that he was to get in the damn truck and leave with the men.  She mentioned his children.  His family.  His health.  The average life expectancy of a Q-zone occupant.  As if she knew.  As if he’d ever run into a census-taker this side of the wall.  And then she made the stupidest mistake she could have.  She mentioned his ex-wife.  He offered, in response, to be her correspondent instead.  Which was met with frosty silence.  Eventually he got a cell-phone with a solar recharge-pack out of the visit.  And some rations, and even a promise of a cold beer if he stopped by the soldier’s checkpoint.

It wasn’t really his ex that kept him inside Q-zone.  It was everything she represented, that average fucking soul-numbing life he had been leading.  Spend the day saying the same damn things year after year to the same kids too busy trying not to give a fuck to be able to hear anything he said, then going home and watching the same bullshit tv, numbing himself to sleep with a couple of drinks.  And weekends? Whatever.

His skills, his knowledge, amateur though it may be, was useful here.  And everything he’d learned in boy scouts and ROTC made him some sort of an asset.  He could talk to kids, too, which was a surprisingly useful skill, given how many young people had decided to stick around.  And he didn’t blame them.  They might have found themselves immune to the indecencies of the “shakes” disease, but many members of their families didn’t, and refused to go into the quarantined refugee camps on the other side of the wall.  So the kids stayed.  And when the sickened families died within months, after watching them die and burying them with their own hands, those kids simply couldn’t see themselves living “on the other side.”  Just like him.

He tended to forget that he wasn’t much older than them.  They just seemed so damn young.  And his own kids had a whole massively overbearing huge family to take care of them.  These kids didn’t.  So he stayed, not out of sheer mule-headedness, like he liked to pretend, but because these kids needed him.  And he needed them.

Character 1 – Atlanton

| November 3, 2011 | 4 Comments

Let’s start off by saying making an aquatic-themed hero is a challenge. Most aquatic heroes are considered pretty lame by the comics-reading community for a number of reasons: their super powers aren’t so “super.” Few cape stories take place under water.  They have silly costumes (when they wear any at all).  They’re just not relevant.  Yes, most aquatic-themed superheroes get no respect, but I had a recent bout of inspiration that may change that.

Elliot Vargas is a young college student who lives in San Diego, CA and studies physics and astronomy.  One the young man stumbles upon a suit of armor of what appears to be alien origins that he finds while stargazing in the middle of the desert.  He dons the suit which quickly sticks to his body and compels him to go to the water.  Elliot begins using the suit to explore the depths, and while this all seems fun at first, the magical undersea journey comes to a crashing halt when Elliot discovers a mysterious submarine in the waters not far outside of San Diego bay.  The submarine is revealed to contain 7,500 kilos of pure, uncut cocaine.

If we could have a thought bubble coming off him right now, it’d probably read “Holy f*cking sh*t!”

Elliot anonymously notifies the authorities of the monstrous find, but he soon finds himself being pursued by drug cartel killers and government agents interested in the suit.  Elliot’s life ultimately becomes a complicated mess of running, juggling school, and being compelled to go back to the water night after night by the suit.

Day 3: The Teller, who basically knows a lot of good and bad things about the universe in which he resides. I wouldn’t say that he’s omniscient, but gifts from the gods are not always forgiving. The tattoo signifies his dogma, which isn’t important here. The Teller wanders the world, immune to sleep because the gods are always talking.

I posted more planning sketches/wip of this guy over here at my tumblr. And a bigger size of this file, too.

Day 3 – Macy Morningstar

Project:  Charlie Chainsaw Has a Dream

Formerly Charlie’s girlfriend, Macy Morningstar pays him a surprise visit when she hears of his triumph over the city’s most famous superhero.  Using her electrically-charged mace and her spiny boa, Macy is a force to be reckoned with.  She is emotionless and uncaring:  never sweet but never mean, always goal-oriented.  It was the mutual understanding of bloodlust that perhaps brought her and Charlie together, but one might guess it’s her stone-cold personality that ripped them apart.

Enjoy!

We live to record the facts.  Facts cannot be changed.  Facts cannot be obscured.  Facts are black.  Facts are white.

We live to record the facts.  Humans think that we live to serve them.  We live to serve the facts.

We serve the facts.  We serve the truth.  We watch.  We record.  We are watching you.

#3 – BT Barnum

| November 3, 2011 | 0 Comments

[The following was taken from reports to Interpol Director Francis Croke on the suspected personal of a international organization known as A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A. Whether A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A is a vigilante group, freedom fighters or terrorists is still being investigated]

Name: Betsy Traci Barnum

Alias: BT Barnum

Age: 29

Height: 5’9

Current weight:125

Hair: Red

Eyes: Green

Group Affiliations: A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A, Barnum Circus

Distinguishing skills/features: Expert in several fields of circus performing which helps her immensely in the field. Although she doesn’t have any formal combat training she uses her accumulated physical knowledge to be a fierce unpredictable combatant. When not in disguise she has a tendency to wear a ringleader jacket and top hat.

History: Born Betsy Traci Barnum, BT Barnum is the last living member of the Barnum Line and the majority shareholder of Barnum Circus the worlds largest and most well traveled Circus originally founded by her great great grandfather PT Barnum.

BT was orphaned at the age of nine when her parents were killed in a car wreck, and upon the examination of their joint will it was revealed that the majority shares would go to Betsy at the age of eighteen but in the meantime she would live with her fathers best friend and godfather Sergei Volcatov, a former Russian circus clown and current ring leader of Barnum Circus.

Volcatov proved a positive influence on BT and the rest of the performers became her surrogate family. In the intervening years she worked(and mastered) nearly every aspect of circus performing: juggling, animal training, tight rope walking, trapeze artistry, and even being a clown. But the part she excelled at was working as  a barker as she displayed a gift for drawing people in and getting them to believe anything she said, a skill she would use to great effect later on.

Upon her eighteenth birthday BT was prepared to accept her majority shares of the circus, however when she went to the circus corporate headquarters she was informed by the board of directors she would be receiving nothing. Apparently they had  exploited a legal loophole that completely cut BT out. Details are sketchy of this meeting but apparently after BT received some rather sexist comments from the board members BT calmly stood up looked around the room and proclaimed “In one years time I will be the only one left working here” and left.

Within a year the entire board of directors were either locked up, homeless, are attacked by rabid ferrets.

Its believed that during the year long “revenge world tour” BT was recruited by A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A, an organization her great great grandfather helped create.

Present Day: After reclaiming ownership over the circus BT left Volcatov in charge while she began her new life as a jet setting heiress accompanied by her assistant Harry and Driver Rodrigo. However we believe that this is just a cover for her real job as an agent of A.B.R.A.C.A.D.A.B.R.A. She has been sighted, if not implicitly linked, near several dozen scenes of mass devastation. Whether she was the cause of this destruction or kept it from getting worse has yet to be uncovered.

Psych Evaluation: BT Barnum has shown signs of survivors guilt most likely associated with the death of her parents, However she uses this guilt to fuel her endless desire to better herself which is why she is able to master multiple disciplines in relatively short amounts of time. This guilt does not seem to ruin her disposition however as she has been reported to be incredibly charismatic which she uses to great effect in business dealings. However she has also exhibited a sadistic streak when crossed, for this reason no allegations should be lobbied against her or at best we risk a a lawsuit. at worst we everyone investigating her will be ruined.
